EMR Specialist

Medical Group of Alaska is seeking a qualified EMR specialist.

Duties for this position include:

  • Acting as a process and technical resource for the Medical Group of Alaska implementation of eClinicalWorks EMR
  • Primary duties consists of day to day operations, usage, and support for eClinicalWorks
  • Responsible for escalating issues to eClinicalWork support when needed
  • Create and maintain internal support ticket system
  • Experience in assisting with the development of training courses and documents for physicians, clinical, and non-clinical staff

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Individual demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving abilities with optimizing EMR workflows
  • Assists in maintaing all functional areas in eClinicalWorks including Lab, Patient Portal, MAQ dashboard, eClinical Messenger, eClinical Mobile, and others.
  • Assists with training new employees
  • Assists with ensuring that eClinicalWorks system is configured and used in a way that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements, including implications resulting from the HITECH Act, Affordable Care Act, or similar future legislation
  • Other duties assigned
  • Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently with little direct oversight
  • Must possess the ability to interact and effectively communicate with people form diverse backgrounds
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in IT and/or EMR highly recommended
